Konnichiwa. Welcome to Japanese class. Very few American high school students have the opportunity or the courage to study Japanese (about 1% actually). Personally, I always feel that I have the most interesting group of students in the school.
Japanese, as you know is VERY different from English, but if you are motivated, if you pay attention in class, if you use the tricks I teach you to remember reading and writing, and if you do your homework every day it can be easy.
One of the first things you ned to know is how to address the teacher. Sensei is the Japanese word for teacher, and it is how students address their teachers. You can also use Kyarorin sensei. That is how my name is said in Japanese.
Exchange program
We have an exchange program with Narita Kokusai High School in Narita, Japan. Narita is about an hour outside of Tokyo. In odd numbered years 15 juniors and seniors have the opportunity to travel to Japan. In even numbered years the students from Narita come to Kennedy. They are scheduled to come in March of 2016.
